Huawei has introduced new Atlas 960 SuperPoD technologies designed to combine large numbers of processors for artificial-intelligence workloads, the Associated Press reported.
At cluster scale, the value of a system depends on networking, memory and software as much as individual chip performance. Huawei’s approach seeks to compete through the architecture of the whole installation.
The launch is also a measure of supply-chain adaptation under export restrictions. Independent performance, efficiency and availability data will show how effectively the system can support large model development.
